Safety warnings for essential oils

🔹 For external use only – Essential oils should never be ingested unless they are explicitly labeled as food safe and used under professional guidance.

🔹 Do not apply undiluted to the skin – Many essential oils are highly concentrated and can cause skin irritation or allergic reactions. Always dilute with a carrier oil (e.g. jojoba, almond or coconut oil).

🔹 Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and open wounds – If the oil gets in your eyes, rinse immediately with a vegetable oil (not water!) and contact a doctor if irritation persists.

🔹 Keep out of reach of children and pets – Some essential oils can be particularly harmful to children and animals.

🔹 Use with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding – Some essential oils (e.g. nutmeg, rosemary, juniper, cinnamon) should be avoided during pregnancy.

🔹 Do not use near open flames – Essential oils are flammable.

🔹 Be careful with certain health conditions – People with asthma, epilepsy, high blood pressure or other medical conditions should consult a doctor before use.

🔹 Avoid direct sunlight after application – Citrus oils such as bergamot, orange, lemon and grapefruit can make the skin more sensitive to UV radiation and cause irritation or pigment changes.

🔹 Use in well-ventilated spaces – When diffusing essential oils into the air, make sure the room is ventilated regularly to avoid too high a concentration.

🔹 Always do an allergy test before first use – Apply a drop of diluted oil to the inside of your forearm and wait 24 hours. If redness or itching occurs, do not use the oil.
